Genoa-Kingston Community Unit School District 424, located about 64 miles west of Chicago in the Northeast corner of DeKalb County, serves the communities of Genoa and Kingston Illinois. The community is predominantly composed of middle class business and professional people who commute to suburban communities like Rockford, Elgin, and Schaumburg. Because of the proximity to Northern Illinois University, Genoa-Kingston is home to numerous university professors and staff.

Genoa-Kingston CUSD 424 is made up of five schools, serving 1900 students in grades K-12. 2003-2004 was the first year for the new Genoa-Kingston High School, and since then all buildings have been renovated and updated with state-of-the-art technology.

For the past decade Genoa-Kingston CUSD 424 has received financial recognition for district finances by the Illinois State Board of Education, the highest ranking the board has.
