Albums of Hope was founded in July 2010 as a small project, born out of love for my husband, who was battling colorectal and liver cancer at the time. I felt helpless in so many ways and had a desire to do something simple for him and others who were battling this horrible disease. Through the goodness of donations and volunteers, we provide pocket-sized photo albums to those who need a lift during difficult times. The albums feature uplifting quotes and photos. We hope that they bring a smile to the faces of those struggling through cancer or other serious illnesses. To date, we have donated over 10,000 photo albums to cancer treatment and support centers, lodging providers like Ronald McDonald House and Hope Lodge, and through special events like St. Baldrick's Shave events and Relay for Life. Thanks to our amazing donors, volunteers, and a wonderful partner in Creative Memories, we have been able to expand from our little roots in McHenry, IL, to serving cancer patients, caregivers, and others who are seriously ill throughout the United States. After an amazing fight, Brad lost his battle with cancer on April 24, 2011. During our years together, we shared many wonderful memories. It is in his memory that I continue the mission of Albums of Hope.
