The schedule is as follows: MCHENRY COUNTY Monday, May 24, 2021 - Veterans Benefits Presented by Michael Iwanicki, Superintendent, VAC McHenry County A discussion of programs offered by the VBA and VHA to support veterans and their spouses such as adaptive housing grants, VHA grants for medically needed adaptations, in-home care, day care, and more. VETERANS ASSISTANCE COMMISSION Tuesday, May 25, 2021 - Local Resource Panel Presented by Jane Dorfner, Assistant Superintendent VAC McHenry County Jennifer Prell, President & Founder, Elderwerks Educational Services Sarah Schrempf, Executive Director, Senior Care Volunteer Network McHenry County An introduction to local resources and services. Wednesday, May 26, 2021 - Family Caregiver Support Presented by Chris Petrik, RN BS, Trainer Elderwerks Educational Services Caregivers will learn some tips on selfcare and resources to help them with the care of a loved one at home. Thursday, May 27, 2021 - Hidden Hero's Program and Wounded Warriors Presented by Theresa Coomer and the Elizabeth Dole Foundation These organizations address the needs of veterans and their caregivers. Friday, May 28, 2021 - Legal Issues Faced by Older Adults and/or Disabled Veterans and Their Families Panel Discussion Presented by Randall Tyner, Assistant Attorney General, Illinois Attorney General's Office Melissa Wick, Elder Law Attorney, Wick Elder Law, PC Gregory Barry, Attorney at Zukowski, Rogers, Flood & McArdle and Public Guardian and Public Administrator of McHenry County Register at events@elderwerks.org or call 855-462-0100 for more information.
